Come Closer, Listen // Vieni Più Vicino, Ascolta

Come Closer, Listen // Vieni Più Vicino, Ascolta, a participatory programme by the Moving Kinship team included a procession/protest, an installation and a live performance combining dance, spoken word and an intergenerational choir.

Co-created in a Moving Kinship Hub with a team of professional artists, young migrants, refugees, and local residents, and hosted at Casa Della Memoria, the project exemplified a powerful blend of artistic vision, community collaboration, and trauma-informed practice. Casa Della Memoria became a vibrant central hub, deepening connections to local history, memory, and place, and opening pathways for meaningful exchange with the community and its archives.

Casa Della Memoria National Peace Monument

The choice of the Casa Della Memoria as the first stop on the European tour is not accidental: the former prison camp of Servigliano, a National Monument since 2022, represents a strong symbol against fascism, racism and xenophobia. A place where the past intertwines with the urgencies of the present, and where this performance takes on an even deeper meaning.”

“Come Closer, Listen //Vieni Più Vicino, Ascolta is more than just the evocative title of a performance. It is a powerful invitation to each of us to pause, draw near, and pay attention. To what? To stories. Real ones—of war, migration, memory, and transformation. Stories that often go unheard…”
